Immediate Release

Pavee Point Warns Against Bogus Door to Door Collectors.

Pavee Point Travellers’ Centre has received calls about people collecting donations on its behalf in various locations around Dublin and in the midlands. Pavee Point would like to bring it to the public’s attention that it does not collect donations door to door to fund any of its activities. The organisation has been informed that bogus collectors present a letter at the door with the Pavee Point logo and the Director’s name, Ronnie Fay, requesting funds for events such as children’s Christmas parties or various education initiatives. The bogus fundraisers carry false identity cards.

We would like to notify people that Pavee Point has never, and never would, give permission for anyone to use our name in order to collect money in any situation.

We are in contact with the Gardaí and are hoping to apprehend the people involved. We would ask that if collectors call to the door specifically requesting donations on behalf of Pavee Point Travellers’ Centre not to make a donation, monetary or otherwise.

We ask that members of the public who come across this behaviour or have any information regarding the colour and registration numbers of vehicles, descriptions of the people involved, names of telephone numbers, to please contact the local Gardaí and assist them to putting a halt to this behaviour.
