Statement: Murder in Tallaght

Statement begins-

Pavee Point was disturbed and shocked to learn of the murder of Melanie McCarthy-McNamara, a 16 year old Traveller girl, in Tallaght.

Our thoughts are with her family and her loved ones.

Pavee Point unequivocally condemns this senseless and tragic murder and calls for calm at this difficult time.

We strongly urge anybody with any information on this tragic crime to contact the Gardaí Confidential (01) 800 666 111, and for those responsible for this heinous crime to come forward to the Gardaí.
