Job Vacancies - Vacant Jobs: Traveller Inclusion in the Mainstream Labour Force

This new piece of research published by Pavee Point illustrates that access to employment, enjoyed by so many in Irish society in recent years, has not been enjoyed in general by Travellers. There are a number of interlinking reasons for this including discrimination within the labour market, lack of access to good formal education and training, lack of recognition of the skills Travellers have and a subsequent lack of confidence amongst the Traveller community about their employment and progression prospects. This report makes recommendations and was commissioned as part of the work of Pavee Point's Travellers' Economic and Social Inclusion Programme.
