In the coming days, Pavee Point is representing the rights of Traveller and Roma women during the 66th session of the UN Committee on the Elimination of all Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) in Geneva. A special thank you to all the Traveller and Roma women who engaged with us to feed into Pavee Point and National Traveller Women’s Forum’s Joint Shadow Report to the UN CEDAW Committee.

Timetable of events during Ireland’s hearing on women’s rights:

Monday 13 Feb

• Oral statements by NGOs (2.00- 3.15pm Irish time)
Watch online as Irish Human Rights and Equality Commission Chief Commissioner Emily Logan addresses the UN CEDAW committee (3.30pm-4pm, Irish time)

Tuesday 14 Feb
• Lunch Briefing for CEDAW Committee by NGOs (12.45-1.45pm Irish time)

Wednesday 15 Feb
Follow Ireland’s examination online and watch the UN experts question Ireland’s senior state officials on Ireland’s record on women’s rights and gender equality (8.00 – 3.00pm Irish time)

The Irish Human Rights and Equality Commission will also host an all-day web-streaming of the State’s hearing at their offices on Wednesday February 15th from 9am at 16-22 Green St, Dublin 7.
