Our Roma Genocide Remembrance Initiative
What is this?
This is a training programme for Travellers and Roma (aged 16 – 30 years ) to learn about the Holocaust. Participants will do training with Pavee Point Traveller and Roma Centre and will go on a five day trip to Krakow, Poland to visit Auschwitz concentration camp and will meet Holocaust survivors.
Participants will then deliver a project to spread awareness about the experiences of Roma in the Holocaust in Ireland.
Parental consent must be provided for applicants under 18 years. The overall event will have about 200-250 Traveller and Roma participants from across Europe.
2 days training will take place in Pavee Point Traveller and Roma Centre on 12th & 13th July 2018.
The trip to Krakow will be from Sunday 29.07.2018 – Friday 03.08.2018 (depending on flight availability).
De-brief and project update day in Pavee Point on 8 August 2018
Project presentation day will take place in Pavee Point on 5 September 2018
Potential participants must be available for all of the above dates in order to apply.

Flights will be covered through a fundraising project.
Hostel Accommodation is being provided by the Documentation and Cultural Centre of German Sinti and Roma in Germany.
Basic meal expenses and any transportation in Krakow (as part of this project) will be covered.
Any further expenses will have to be covered by you personally.
Who is coordinating?
There are two leaders from Pavee Point Traveller and Roma Centre who will lead the Irish delegation on this project. These are Gabi Muntean and Pa Reilly. The Irish delegation will consist of a further 10 delegates.
