PJ Mongan is a Galway-based musician and singer. He is known for singing popular, folk, country and Traveller songs and plays guitar. He has an interest in the Traveller tradition of songs and worked with Campfire in the Dark writer Paddy Houlihan on a project about the song.   This resulted in a short film, made with young people from Foróige Ballinfoyle Youth Development Project.    In 2024, he won a Music Traveller Pride Award along with Francis Ward. PJ is involved with Music Generation Galway City, working as an educator and teaching guitar to young people including young Travellers.  He has performed at Misleor Festival of Nomadic Cultures, Traveller Pride Awards and at Culture Night events.
