Kathleen Keenan is a singer, songwriter and musician originally from Ennis in Co. Clare who now lives in Tuam, Co. Galway. Kathleen comes from a musical family and grew up with music along with her brother Davie and sister Mary. Kathleen sings traditional ballads as well as other genres and also writes her own songs. She has performed most of her life from busking on the streets, to playing pubs and venues and at a variety of events such as Misleor festival of nomadic cultures, Traveller Pride concerts and the Taidhbhdhearc Theatre, Galway. In 2022 Kathleen received the Agility Award from The Arts Council. In 2023, inspired by her mother, Kathleen produced the album ‘Beautiful Angels’ in 2023. Kathleen also featured in the Pat Collins documentary for RTE Songlines in 2024 and Kathleen is currently working on her second album. Photo by Stephen Long.
