This is a 3 year project co-funded by the Irish Heart Foundation and is located at the Abigail Centre, Finglas. Via a consultation process, it was felt this project could progress Traveller men’s health in a multi-faceted way by addressing:

  • Unemployment
  • Healthy eating and nutrition
  • Educational training & classes
  • Health checks
  • Positive mental health
  • A safe space for discussion

The garden was established in the autumn of 2016. See how the garden grew.

The day to day work is carried out by Community Employment Participants who are also in training for a Level 4 Major Award in Horticulture in conjunction with Finglas CDETB. Traveller women contribute to the work of the garden one day a week.
