Pavee Point is taking part in a webinar on racism targeted at young people and organised by YMCA Ireland and Youth Information Service.
“It’s great to see young people including Travellers in these discussions,” said Patrick Reilly of Pavee Point. “We want to highlight how the experience of Irish Travellers in Ireland echoes that of other ethnic minorities around the world.”
Geraldine McDonnell of Pavee Point, who is also taking part explains that hearing Travellers speak about their experience can bring home the reality of life in Ireland today for Travellers. “Discrimination is a regular experience for many Travellers.
“We want to build solidarity between Traveller young people and young people from the majority population.”
