Pavee Point has sponsored a Community Employment Scheme since 1995.  Our programme provides useful and meaningful work experience for members of the Traveller and Roma communities.

Our Community Employment scheme is designed to implement a realistic work programme with specific work in areas such as health, domestic and sexual violence, community development, Roma, information, drugs and alcohol, administration, housekeeping and maintenance.

Our work programme, enables each individual to develop new skills and gain a better understanding of the issues facing their communities.  Participation on CE will also develop greater confidence and self-esteem.

Individual development and capacity building is the most important aspect of the scheme as it enables participants to progress on to further training, higher education or employment.

CE can provide a bridge for Travellers for whom education was a negative experience and whose confidence may be too low to engage in mainstream training.

Each individual participant is encouraged and supported to progress onto a course or seek employment related to their ability and interests. This is done through monitoring training/job opportunities,  provision of CVs and references and linking with relevant organisations and agencies.
