Mary Brigid Collins addressed the All Ireland Chief Nursing Officers Conference at Dublin Castle on the 4th December.
Mary Brigid, assistant co-ordinator of the Pavee Point Primary Health Care Project, spoke to a packed conference on a collective Community Development approach to addressing Traveller issues in health. The Conference focused on the routes to reform of midwifery and nursing care and was an ideal opportunity to talk about meeting the needs of minority groups in healthcare.
Pavee Point has recently focused on maternal health with our project Pavee Mothers which looks at the particular needs of Traveller mothers who are not necessarily accessing the appropriate services.
