Friday, Oct 30 — Pavee Point was delighted to join the Roma Cultural Day in Kildare for an afternoon filled with homemade traditional Roma food and music.
Rudolf Simonic, of Pavee Point’s Roma Programme, spoke to those in attendance about the importance of strong community and of Roma culture, and how much there is to be proud of and to protect — despite histories of oppression and discrimination.
These celebrations play a vital role in promoting diversity and advancing inclusion for Roma. A big thank you to Kildare Community Development Centre for helping to organise the event, and especially to Karl Duff and Mary Hennessy.
