Traveller Graduates

Today (Oct 29th)  is a big day for Geraldine and Annmarie McDonnell (pictured with Professor Philip Nolan) who pick up the parchment to say they graduate from Maynooth University.

The graduation ceremony takes place in the Aula Maxima and both are graduating in an honours degree programme – Bachelor of Arts Community and Youth Work.  Geraldine and Anne Marie successfully completed the demanding part-time inservice route over four years while continuing to work in their respective jobs.

They are the latest Traveller graduates from the Dept of Applied Social Studies at Maynooth University. The first in 1987 was Thomas McCann (Traveller Counselling Service) who went on to Maynooth having completed an initial Pavee Point training programme.

Congratulations to Geraldine and Annmarie and we wish them great success in their future careers.
